Amtrak offering 20% discount on Piedmont, Carolinian and Silver Star

Amtrak is partnering with the Greater Raleigh Visitors and Convention Bureau to offer a special 20% discount off of the regular (full) adult rail fare for visitors traveling to Raleigh on Amtrak trains. Up to two (2) children, ages 2–15 may accompany each paid adult at half the regular (full) adult fare.

The offer is good for travel on the Piedmont, Carolinian and Silver Star train routes providing daily service to Raleigh from cities in the Northeast and Southeast.

The offer is valid for sale from January 4 - June 6, 2008, and valid for travel from January 7 - June 9, 2008. Reservations must be made a minimum of three (3) days prior to travel. Seating is limited and seats may not be available for all trains at all times. The offer is not valid for travel on the following blackout dates: February 15, 2008, February 18, 2008, March 21, 2008 and March 24, 2008.

This offer is valid for coach seats, and upgrades to Business Class and/or Sleeper Service are allowed with full payment of applicable accommodations charges. This offer is subject to any restrictions, blackouts, and refund rules that apply to the type of fare purchased and upon which the discount is based. This offer is not combinable with any other discount offer. Other restrictions may apply.
