North Carolina Football Club to Host U.S. Women's National Team on Sunday, October 22

CARY N.C. (August 14, 2017) - The North Carolina Football Club is set to host the No. 1 ranked United States Women's National Team against Korea Republic on Sunday, Oct. 22. The game will take place at Sahlen's Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park and is scheduled to kickoff at 2:00 p.m. ET.

"North Carolina Football Club, in coordination with the Town of Cary, is thrilled to host the U.S. Women's National Team vs. Korea Republic game here at Sahlen's Stadium," said President and General Manager Curt Johnson. "With several NC Courage players in the USWNT player pool, our fans will be able to see their favorite players represent their country in their favorite NWSL team's home stadium. We expect this match to sell out quickly and we encourage our fans to secure their tickets early."

The U.S. Women's National Team returns to WakeMed Soccer Park for the first time since 2014, when they defeated Switzerland in an exciting 4-1 match on August 20, 2014. This year, NC Courage midfielder Samantha Mewis as well as forward Lynn Williams, and defenders Abby Dahlkemper and Taylor Smith have seen time with the National Team. Most recently, they all have earned caps during the Tournament of Nations, with Smith earning her first cap and recording her first assists, while Mewis tallied a goal against Brazil on July 30.

Tickets to the game go on sale to the general public Friday, Aug. 18, at 10 a.m. ET through and by phone at 1-800-745-3000. Individual ticket purchases will be limited to six tickets per household, and will not be sold at the stadium ticket office except on the day of the event, if any remain.

Ultimate Fan Tickets (special VIP packages that include a premium ticket, a custom-made official U.S. National Team jersey with name and number, VIP access to the field before and after the game, and other unique benefits) are also available for both games exclusively through

Prior to individual tickets going on sale, the North Carolina Football Club will be offering a special ticket package that will include a ticket to the match and a flex voucher good for any remaining 2017 regular season North Carolina Courage or North Carolina FC game. This special offer will be available for purchase to North Carolina Football Club Members (Season Ticket, Flex, NCFC Youth and Individual members) beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 16, two days prior to the general public on-sale date. Ticket packages start at $45 per package and fans are encouraged to act early to secure their tickets.

North Carolina Football Club members will have an exclusive 24-hour window to purchase this package, and the game pack will be available to the general public for purchase on Thursday, Aug. 17 at 9:00 a.m. ET. To take advantage of this special offer, call the club's box office at 919-459-8144.

The USA last faced Korea Republic on May 30, 2015, drawing 0-0 at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J., in what was the last match before the historic run to the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup title.

"To play a highly technical and organized team like South Korea will give us more quality matches in 2017," said U.S. head coach Jill Ellis. "They are consistently pushing the top teams in Asia and these games, right at the end of the NWSL season, will be a great window to get the team back together before our final FIFA dates in November."
