Of all the cities in the world, Raleigh has been chosen for the premiere debut of Architects of Air’s brand new luminarium, Mirazozo. A lumi-what, you may ask? Architects of Air define their luminarium as “a sculpture people enter to be moved to a sense of wonder at the beauty of light and colour.” This outstanding and monumental sculpture will be a part of this year’s Artsplosure in downtown Raleigh.
Basically, on May 13-16 in City Plaza, you will have the chance to walk into a 6,000-square-foot, inflatable sculpture that is full of captivating light, geometry and design that will leave you in a state of “art awe.” The Mirazozo is one of five luminaria that Architects of Air will be touring in 2010, and Raleigh is lucky to be the location of its debut!
Tickets are $5 per person and will be available at the northern end of City Plaza from 1 to 7 p.m. on May 13-14 and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on May 15-16. Just remember that final admission will be 20 minutes prior to closing each day, and you will have to leave your shoes at the exhibit entrance at your own risk. This means leave your Manolo Blahnik’s at home, ladies.
Grab your friends and family and adventure into this multi-sensory space, where you are sure to be inspired and affected. Mirazozo should definitely be one of your pit-stops while enjoying Artsplosure 2010!
