As long as you’re not giving coal this year, you’ll want to fill those stockings with delicious treats. Chocolates, candies and truffles can be found almost anywhere, but to find sweets that are uniquely delightful, you’ll want to visit one of the artisan chocolate shops in Raleigh.

Founded in 2007 by a local resident, Red Light Chocolates has divine hand-crafted sweets that contain no preservatives and are made using only the purest Belgian chocolate and freshest ingredients. The 25- or 16-piece artisan chocolate collections are perfect for holiday gifts and include customer favorites such as a dark chocolate truffle ball, sea salt caramel and almond pistachio. You can find these chocolates at The Umstead Hotel or order them online.

The chocolatiers at Escazu Artisan Chocolates craft their treats from cacao bean to chocolate bar to confection. Escazu chocolate bars are the perfect stocking stuffers, with flavors like chipotle chili, pumpkin seed and guajillo chili and sea salt. You’ll also find fun gift items like the hot chocolate mix in their Raleigh store and online.

A new addition to downtown Raleigh, Videri Chocolate Factory also produces chocolate from the bean for the pure flavors of handmade chocolate. Videri is opening in December in the historic Depot Station.

If your sweet tooth isn’t kicking in yet, then it definitely will once you’ve entered the doors of one of these artisan chocolate shops. Choose wisely… or just get a bigger stocking!
