St. Patrick’s Day is fast approaching, and with it comes the Annual Raleigh St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival.  Now in its 29th year, Raleigh St. Patrick’s Day festivities are a great way for everyone to celebrate the Irish culture, whether you’re Irish or not.

This downtown celebration boasts the second-largest parade of its kind in the Southeast.  Starting at noon, the parade heads down Raleigh’s famed Fayetteville Street, around the Capitol and down Blount Street to end at Moore Square.  It is here that the Wearin’ O’ the Green Festival takes place, complete with tons of food, drink and fun!

Kids will have plenty of fun with the activities in Leprechaun Lane, and you’ll have a great time watching traditional dancers kick up their heels, listening to local Irish music favorites, and watching live Irish bands on the Shamrock ‘n Roll stage. An array of vendors will be on site with Irish jewelry, crafts and other trinkets.

Make sure to mark your calendar with a four-leaf clover on March 12, and look forward to a wonderful holiday in Raleigh.
