As North Carolina’s capital city, Raleigh boasts a wonderful Capital District full of stately buildings, classic architecture and high-profile business. This is where decisions are made and history is honored.

Some of the grand buildings lining the district’s streets include the Governor’s Mansion, the State Legislative Building and the original North Carolina Capitol, all of which are available for tours. The district is also home to the N.C. Museum of History and the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences, rated as one of the top museums in the nation.

There is plenty of history to explore in this district, most of which you can get to know through a Segway or walking tour.  You’ll also find rich culture and history in the beautifully restored homes of North Blount Street, long considered Raleigh’s premiere residential address.

The district abuts Seaboard Station, an area now home to eclectic restaurants and events that keep the district alive even after the sun goes down.  After a day full of history, enjoy a night filled with laughs at ComedyWorx, one of downtown’s oldest comedy clubs.
