Best of...Again
We’re constantly updating our Accolades list, and in April and May, the Raleigh area garnered more rankings on national “Best Of” lists. Healthy economies, moderate costs of living, light traffic, impressive housing stocks and high-powered educational systems are just a few of the reasons Portfolio.com ranked the Raleigh area to the top spot on the publication’s annual Quality of Life rankings among the major markets. Portfolio.com also ranked Raleigh-Cary as one of the “Top 100 Fun Places in America,” and Policom Corporation listed Raleigh-Cary as #15 in Economic Strength rankings. On a lighter note, Southern Living magazine fell in love with the Angus Barn’s famous chess pie and listed it as one of the “South’s Best Pies” in the June issue. New Faces
If you see a new face in the Bureau office, take the time to say hello to one of our new summer interns. Join us in welcoming N.C. State University students Jamie Buning (Communications) and Ryan Capp (Services) and Wake Tech graduate Shara Skeete (Sales, not pictured).
Rock On
The Raleigh area can add another premier venue--we’ve got over 100 at last count--with the opening of the Raleigh Amphitheater. The 5,500-seat outdoor theater, located behind the Raleigh Convention Center, opened June 4 with a celebration of Raleigh artists and officially kicked off its inaugural season with chart-topping boy band Backstreet Boys.
