Soccer Frenzy
November in the Raleigh area unofficially has been designated as soccer month! For six weeks, the largest youth sporting event in Triangle history begins as 1,100 youth soccer teams from throughout the U.S. travel to Greater Raleigh for the CASL visitRaleigh.com National Soccer Series presented by Chelsea Football Club. Combined, the National Soccer Series will bring approximately 970 teams to the Raleigh area, playing in nine sports venues (seven in the Raleigh area and one each in partner cities Wilson and Rocky Mount) generating more than 25,000 hotel room-nights and more than $7.5 million in direct visitor spending.
Housekeeping
Bureau offices will be closed on November 24-25 for Thanksgiving and on December 26-27 and January 2 for Christmas and New Year’s holidays.

The Sports Marketing Department represented the Bureau at the recent TEAMS Conference in Las Vegas, the leading conference and expo in the sports event and travel industry; the GRCVB partnered with other destinations through North Carolina to represent the state as a premiere sports and tourism destination.
