Adrenaline Junkie Creative Genius Foodie Rock Star Wannabe Free Spirit
Put a little “spring” in your step this March with a calendar full of exciting events, many found only in Greater Raleigh! No matter if you are a Fashionista, History Buff or Adrenaline Junkie, there is always something to do in North Carolina's Capital City.

Are you a Free Spirit?...

dancersDo your interests skew from movies to magic and comedy to culture? If so, you’re a Free Spirit and you enjoy a variety of things to do. Start the month off by putting on your 3D glasses and experiencing movie magic at Raleigh’s Wachovia IMAX Theatre. Get your tickets early for the two blockbusters playing on the larger-than-life screen – Avatar 3D and Alice in Wonderland 3D (ongoing throughout March). While imaginary worlds are created with 3D movies, discover the world we live in at the N.C. State Fairgrounds during the Persian New Year Celebration (3/16), India Fest (3/20-21) and the Chinese New Year Celebration (3/27). The N.C. State Fairgrounds also host a day of family fun during the 2010 Making Magic Family Expo (3/27). Downtown Raleigh celebrates Ireland at the 28th Annual Raleigh St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival (3/13), and the Town of Cary invites you to “Go Fly a Kite” during the Annual Kite Festival (3/13). Beware – hysterical laughter to take place when Gabriel Iglesias (3/7) brings his signature “I’m Not Fat…I’m Fluffy” act to the Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts, and Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall and Larry the Cable Guy (3/12) perform their original brand of comedy at the RBC Center. If all these choices haven’t given you enough to think about, check out the special exhibit, Megalodon: The Largest Shark That Ever Lived (through 5/9) at the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences.| learn more

Being a Creative Genius doesn’t have to mean being old! Take advantage of the numerous opportunities this month for kids of all ages to learn about music, theater and dance. Every little girl loves a princess story and the world-renowned Carolina Ballet dances the timeless classic Cinderella (2/18-3/7). The N.C. Symphony presents different types of dance from Appalachian clogging to Spanish Flamenco during Let’s Dance (3/13), and Raleigh Little Theatre adapts the 1945 Newberry Award Book A Hundred Dresses (3/12-28) into a play about courage, tolerance and creativity. Want celebrity sightings without leaving North Carolina? The N.C. Theatre welcomes Sally Struthers and Ira David Wood in The Full Monty (2/27-3/7), Broadway Series South presents Little House on the Prairie: The Musical (3/16-27) with Melissa Gilbert as Ma and the N.C. Symphony pays tribute to Oscar-winning films during Silver Screen and Red Carpet (3/26-27). | learn more
