If shopping is on the agenda, Greater Raleigh is the right place to be. With 11 major shopping areas, you can hunt for brand-name bargains at area outlets or choose from the latest fashions at the top-notch boutiques and malls. For a one-of-a-kind souvenir, visit one of the many specialty shops.

Start your day by visiting the specialty shops and restaurants of City Market. For breakfast–or lunch–try Big Ed's, a landmark eatery that is home to authentic southern-style cookin' with an atmosphere to match! Don't leave without touring Artspace, with 35 artists working in open-to-the-public studios.

Enjoy the outdoor setting of Cameron Village or North Hills, both home to more than 80 distinctive stores, fine restaurants and cozy cafes. For antique buffs, visit the Carolina Antique Mall.

Another way to get a feel for the Greater Raleigh is to head “downtown.”  Raleigh, Cary, Apex, Wendell and Wake Forest all offer exciting shopping options in quaint downtown settings… be sure to chat it up with some of the friendly shop keepers to discover more of the area’s hidden gems.

After lunch, explore Shops of Baileywick, featuring different vendors displaying unique craft items, decorative accessories, antiques and more. Or, if fresh produce and locally made goods are what you crave, why not have lunch at the State Farmers Market? There, you can eat right off of the stands or grab a seat at the N.C. Seafood Restaurant or State Farmers’ Market Restaurant.

Weekend visitors won't want to miss our Raleigh Flea Market at the N.C. State Fairgrounds, where you will find everything new and old. The Flea Market offers the largest selection of antiques, collectibles and crafts in the state.
