Capital Area Ride for Safety

September 24, 2017

Capital Area Ride for Safety (CARS) will be held on Sunday again this year, leaving at 9am (registration opens at 8am), from Wakefield High School .  There will be a 14 mile ride to Halifax Mall downtown with a 14 mile return trip back to Wakefield High.  The Raleigh Police Department will offer police assistance along the entire way and at the intersections.  There will also be an alternate urban ride from the Lynnwood Brewery parking lot; join Oaks and Spokes to ride 2.5 miles to Halifax Mall with a 2.5 mile return. Have refreshments, socialize and hear from a few keynote statewide and Triangle-area elected officials, advocates and safety experts speaking from a rest stop at Halifax Mall. The CARS ride aims to promote the need to educate, raise awareness and encourage positive interaction between motorists and bicyclists. Proceeds benefit BikeWalk NC and our bicycle safety education program.
