The Paderewski Piano Festival honors the legendary Polish pianist Ignacy Jan Paderewski, who first performed in Raleigh a century ago. The festival brings top pianists to Raleigh for a series of recitals and special programs. Saturday's performer Frederick Vaysse-Knitter has been praised by the distinguished English conductor Sir John Eliot Gardiner as "one of the best pianists of the day." Vaysse-Knitter entered the National Conservatory of Music in Paris at age 13 and has launched a brilliant solo career.
