NC Fine Wines Dinner at The Umstead

The Umstead Hotel & Spa will host an NC Fine Wines Dinner that will highlight the Fine Wines of North Carolina, and specifically the eight vineyards that had wines represented in the 2017 NC Fine Wines Case, as judged by eight Advanced Sommeliers. Representatives from each of the vineyards will be there to talk about their wines and share in the meal with you. This very exclusive event has room for only 50 guests. The four course meal (see menu and wine pairings below) will highlight the very best of North Carolina Fine Wines. You will be contacted via email provided in your purchase for each person's entree choice of Beef Short Rib or Black Grouper by October 31st. Wines are from Addison Farms Vineyard, Cellar 4201, Grove Winery and Vineyards, Herrera Vineyards, Jones von Drehle, Raffaldini Vineyards, Shelton Vineyards and Surry Cellars. There will be a 2 oz. pour for each of the eight wines. There is a special hotel rate of $279 for a hotel room. To book, call The Umstead and mention the NC Fine Wines. The menu includes a 1st course of crab cakes paired with Herrera Vineyards Dry Riesling 2015 and Surry Cellars Sparkling Lot 152. The 2nd course will be lobster bisque paired with Cellar 4201 Chardonnay 2015 and Jones von Drehle Petit Manseng 2015. The 3rd course includes an entree choice of black grouper or beef short rib paired with Grove Winery & Vineyards Nebbiolo 2013, Raffaldini Montepulciano Riserva 2015 and Shelton Vineyards Two.Five.Nine.
