The Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) and The V Foundation have collaborated on a unique relationship to create awareness of and support fundraising efforts for cancer research.

Headquartered in Cary, N.C., The V Foundation for Cancer Research was founded in 1993 by ESPN and the late Jim Valvano, legendary N.C. State basketball coach and ESPN commentator.

The foundation awards 100 percent of all direct donations and net proceeds of events directly to cancer research and related programs.

The Greater Raleigh CVB’s support for the cause includes:
• Donating a percentage of proceeds from our Annual Luncheon meeting
• Communicating The V Foundation’s story to Raleigh area visitors
• Conveying The V Foundation’s cause to meeting and event planners
• Offering charitable opportunities to convention groups meeting here
