Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Gardens (Reopening Fall 2016)

The nation’s first public park solely devoted to Dr. King and the civil rights movement, it is bordered by 2,500 named bricks recognizing state and national supporters. Gardens encircle a bronze statue of King, and a granite water monument honors the area’s civil rights pioneers. Free admission. Hours: Daily, sunrise-sunset.
