A Black newspaper founded in 1940 by P.R. Jervay Sr., the paper published seven editions, which were circulated in major cities throughout N.C. Today “The Carolinian” is the only Black newspaper published twice weekly in the state. The newspaper remains family-owned and operated and is currently run by co-publishers Paul R. and Evelyn H. Jervay.
