RALEIGH, N.C. - Denny Edwards, CEO for The Greater Raleigh Convention & Visitors Bureau (GRCVB), has appointed Loren Gold as executive vice president and charged him with creating a vibrant sales, marketing and business development strategy for the Bureau.
Gold has served as director of sales at GRCVB since 2006, and brings a wealth of senior leadership in the hotel and CVB industries. In his new role, Gold will lead the development of a strategic sales and marketing program, including brand management, market research, market communications, advertising, media relations and public affairs.
"Loren has a terrific knack for putting together sales and marketing campaigns that generate buzz, build partnerships and bring in vital resources," Edwards said. "He will lead many of our strategic efforts during a pivotal year for Raleigh with the planned opening of the new convention center and Marriott Hotel."
Boasting a decade of senior sales management experience, Gold previously held positions in the hotel and CVB industries in metro Washington, DC. Prior to joining GRCVB in 2006, he was Director of National Sales in Wyndham International's DC National Sales Office with sales responsibility to 130 Wyndham properties. He also worked as National Sales Manager for Marriott Hotels and Resorts.
Gold was Regional Director of Sales in DC for the Denver Metro CVB. The Northern Virginia native then founded the first United States Company dedicated exclusively to multiple CVB representation as City Reps Inc. generated meeting and tradeshow business leads for Bureaus in Cincinnati, Houston, Long Beach, Memphis, Minneapolis, Providence and San Jose.
