Based in Raleigh, the North Carolina Symphony performs approximately 170 times each year frequently with international music artists. With the opening of the new concert hall in Raleigh in 2001, the arts in North Carolina changed forever. Meymandi Concert Hall, the new home of the North Carolina Symphony, features a world-class design, near-perfect acoustics and an intimate atmosphere that redefines the concert experience. Led by new Music Director Grant Llewellyn, the N.C. Symphony is a national leader in music education and performs approximately 42 music education concerts annually for North Carolina school children. Each June and July, the Symphony also performs a series of Summerfest concerts at Koka Booth Amphitheatre at Regency Park in Cary .
