The Raleigh City Museum is pleased to announce a very special event with WRAL’s Bill Leslie titled, Music and Musings with Bill Leslie. Join us Thursday, March 11, from 6:00p.m.-8:00p.m. for an evening of storytelling, music, and local BBQ. Bill Leslie shares stories from his career and from his book Blue Ridge Reunion, which features tales from his childhood and his father’s watercolors. Using guitar, Celtic whistle, and his affinity for storytelling, Leslie provides nostalgic and lighthearted insights into the state we call home. Before the presentation, enjoy a tasty southern dinner of BBQ and other local cuisine.

Bill Leslie is an Emmy Award winning journalist and internationally acclaimed musician, composer, and storyteller. He is a trusted news source at WRAL-TV and recently authored a book titled Blue Ridge Reunion. Blue Ridge Reunion and the accompanying CD are featured in our museum store and Bill will hold an autograph signing after his presentation.

Featuring exhibits that change periodically and focus on the history of the city, the museum is housed in the historic Briggs Building, built in 1874 as a hardware store. The building retains many of its original features, including the tin ceiling in the museum gallery. A gift shop carries unique items associated with Raleigh’s history. Free admission. Group tours available with advance notice. Hours: Tues.-Fri., 10am-4pm; Sat., 1-4pm.
