West of the airport and just south of The Research Triangle Park is Morrisville. Morrisville is the home of many of the engineers and scientists who work in the Research Triangle Region. This influx of people has spawned a plethora of not-so-common ethnic restaurants like Indian, Mediterranean, Thai, Japanese and African in Morrisville, in addition to more traditional food fare. Right off Aviation Pkwy. near RDU International Airport is North Carolina’s first urban winery, Chatham Hill Winery, featuring great local wines and tours of the facility. To further enhance your food experience, Capri Flavors is a restaurant supplier specializing in Italian foods; this family-owned business has a market open to the public and cooking classes on-site. The Town of Morrisville has set up a history center at Town Hall featuring exhibits and two films about the history of Morrisville and a Civil War battle at Morrisville. Morrisville is also home to Lake Crabtree County Park.
