Second Empire is a three-year and Raleigh’s only recipient of the AAA Four Diamond Award, the Distinguished Restaurants of North America Award and an eight-year recipient of the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence. Located in the elegantly restored Dodd-Hinsdale House (circa 1879), Second Empire combines history, atmosphere, and gourmet cuisine for an unforgettable dining experience.

The Chef’s Table is for 2-8 people to dine exclusively in our kitchen with Chef Daniel Schurr and his staff.  Each dinner will feature four courses based on you and your guests likes and dislikes.  Each course is paired with wine.  You will interact directly with the Chef and his staff throughout your dinner and thereby experience firsthand the techniques utilized by them.  When making reservations, a form will be completed by you with likes, dislikes and any food allergies so the Chef designs the menu around you.
