(Cary, NC) -- The third edition of the USA Baseball National High School Invitational begins on Wednesday, March 26 at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C. The single-elimination championship tournament, which brings together 16 of the nation's top prep programs, will feature four days of competition, Wednesday, March 26 through Saturday, March 29. The 16 team field includes Baseball America's preseason No. 1 team, Venice (Fla.) High School.

The NHSI will also feature six athletes that have previously represented Team USA in international competition and one coach, Chan Brown (Parkview), that coached Team USA to a 15U Pan American Championship in 2013.

Event Information

The USA Baseball National High School Invitational is hosted by the Town of Cary, sponsored by the Greater Raleigh Sports Alliance and Baseball America is the event media partner.

The participating teams are as follows: T.C. Roberson High School (Asheville, N.C.), Aliso Niguel High School (Aliso Viejo, Calif.), Bishop Verot High School (Fort Myers, Fla.), Clovis High School (Clovis, Calif.), Coral Springs Christian Academy (Coral Springs, Fla.), Dyer County High School (Newbern, Tenn.), Gainesville High School (Gainesville, Ga.), Huntsville High School (Huntsville, Ala.), Milton High School (Milton, Ga.), Mountain Pointe High School (Phoenix, Ariz.), Orange Lutheran High School (Orange, Calif.), Parkview High School (Lilburn, Ga.), Regis Jesuit High School (Aurora, Colo.), The First Academy (Orlando, Fla.), ThunderRidge High School (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) and Venice High School (Venice, Fla.).

Game dates are March 26-29, 2014. The event begins on Wednesday, March 26 with eight games at the USA Baseball National Training Complex. The championship game will be played at 12 p.m. ET on Saturday, March 29.

Team USA at the NHSI


Six players and one coach with previous USA Baseball international experience will compete in the 2014 National High School Invitational. The list includes athletes that have competed across all age groups from the 18U National Team to the 14U National Team.

Two 2014 national team coaches will lead teams in the 2014 NHSI. Chan Brown, the manager of the 2014 USA Baseball 15U National Team, is the head coach at Parkview (Ga.) High School, and Eric Borba, a 2014 USA Baseball 12U National Team assistant coach, is the head coach at Orange Lutheran (Calif.) High School.

Adam Haseley (The First Academy), Mac Marshall (Parkview), Michael Rivera (Venice) and Cole Tucker (Mountain Pointe) won the 2013 IBAF 18U World Cup in Taichung, Taiwan, as part of the 18U National Team last September.

Coach Chan Brown (Parkview) and Blake Sabol (Aliso Niguel) were members of the 15U National Team that won the 2013 15U Pan American Championship in Barranquilla, Colombia last August.

All of the 18U World Cup and 15U Pan American Champions will be honored during the NHSI with the presentation of their championship rings. In addition, 2013 12U National Team member and 12U World Cup champion, Carson Tucker, will be in attendance at the NHSI and will be honored for his accomplishments last summer.
