Raleigh, NC - IRONMAN, the world's leading triathlon series, is coming to Raleigh this June! And with any big event, there is always a need for volunteers. The inaugural IRONMAN 70.3 Raleigh has put out a call for volunteers for the swim, bike and run event that spans 70.3 miles through Raleigh, Wake County and Chatham County. Thousands of volunteers will be needed for the world-class event on June 2, 2013 as well as in the days leading up to the race.

Volunteers are needed at registration, at aid stations on the bike and run course, for the swim portion at Jordan Lake, at race transition points, for finish line support, athlete hospitality, at the awards ceremony and more to help make this a successful event.

This is a great and rewarding opportunity for sport clubs, school groups, church groups and other non-profits to give back to the community as well as the sport while sharing the experience of an exciting IRONMAN race. The Ironman Foundation may provide grants to qualifying non-profit groups for their volunteer hours.

Volunteers can register now by going to www.ironmanraleigh.com/volunteer and any questions related to group sign-ups can be sent to raleigh@ironmanvolunteers.com. Please forward to any individuals or groups who may be interested.
