-What: The inaugural Rock ‘n' Roll Raleigh Marathon & ½ Marathon Presented by WRAL Benefiting The V Foundation is set to sell out with 12,500 participants. 

Less than 1,000 spots remain for the entertainment themed race, which will feature live, local bands and motivating cheerleaders each mile of the scenic course.

Runners are encouraged to sign up now at RunRocknRoll.com/Raleigh. The sellout is expected to take place within days.

-When: The race is set to take place on Sunday, April 13, 2014.

-Where: Runners will start on S. Salisbury Street in downtown Raleigh and finish on Fayetteville Street. Runners will celebrate at the Red Hat Amphitheater, where they will join friends and family for a post-race concert and finish line festival.

Participants will experience sights like the Governor's Mansion, Rose Garden, Oakwood neighborhood, Pullen Park and the iconic Daily Planet at the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences as well as the North Carolina State campus along the 26.2 and 13.1 mile course.

• The musically-themed marathon is set to welcome visitors from all 50 states and at least 6 foreign countries.

• More than 40% of the runners are coming from outside the Raleigh-Durham area, bringing significant economic impact to the region.

• Runners are invited to run for a cause with The V Foundation for Cancer Research, the official charity partner of the event and their charity training team, Team V. Net proceeds of Team V will benefit cancer research and related programs. Runners can join the cause by running for Team V at www.run4v.org.
