Need things to keep your relatives occupied till the New Year? Have veterans in the family? Why not take them to one of the newest exhibits at the North Carolina Museum of History? Part education, part fun, ‘A Call to Arms’ is an exhibit everyone can enjoy.
‘A Call to Arms’ is a glance into North Carolina’s military heritage ranging from the World Wars to the Iraqi War. This exhibit particularly focuses on the Thirtieth Heavy Separate Brigade of the North Carolina National Guard. Beginning with their presence in WWI, the exhibit traces how the group has evolved throughout the years and the strong presence they’ve had in American history.
The exhibit provides amazing artifacts, video interviews from the soldiers, and stories that will fascinate you. Don’t forget to visit the gift shop on the way out and pick up a souvenir to commemorate your time at the exhibit!
If you’re looking for something to keep grandpa and your brothers happy while they’re in town, this is the place you need to go. This exhibit will engage you, entertain you, and of course educate you on North Carolina’s military history. Not to mention its free! So now, you really have no reason not to go!
