One of the best ways to get to know the local culture and flair of a place you’re visiting is to take a look at local art.  There are so many art galleries in Greater Raleigh that you could spend an entire day or two exploring them during your stay.  Or you could stop by a few just to get a taste of what talented local artists have to offer.

In downtown Raleigh you can find fine art exhibition galleries such as Adam Cave Fine Art, Mahler Gallery, 311 West Martin Galleries & Studios, and the Visual Art Exchange.  These galleries are packed full of photography, paintings and sculptures that you can enjoy in one downtown stroll.

Wake Forest has an art scene of its own, with The Cotton Company and Sunflower Studio and Gallery.  Located in historic downtown Wake Forest, the galleries at The Cotton Company are home to studio artists Ema Godfrey, Doreen Tewksbury and Dick Larsen.

You’ll also be able to find local art for sale at places such as When Pigz Fly, Seaboard Station and Ripple City Artworks to name a few.  For a comprehensive list of art galleries to explore, visit this site.
