It’s easy to find a delicious, hearty meal in Greater Raleigh, but when you’re looking for a lighter, healthier dish, it’s important to know your options. There’s no shortage of such cuisine in the area, and now Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar has joined the circle of restaurants offering healthier dishes with the introduction of seven Small Plates to its already outstanding menu.

Reminiscent of a Mediterranean style of dining, Fleming’s Small Plates include a sliced filet mignon on shiitake risotto, lobster tempura with soy-ginger dipping sauce, New Zealand petite lamb chops with pistachio-mint pesto and ahi tuna skewers with wasabi aioli. Is your mouth watering yet?

Executive Chef Russell Skall says that the small plates allow Fleming’s guests to customize their meal and their dining experience. By taking an indulgent, high-calorie appetizer and recreating it, Chef Skall was able to create an equally succulent dish with only half the calories. Small plates can be enjoyed anytime with a glass of wine, shared with friends, as a starter course, or even as an alternative to a large entrée.

These tasty dishes aside, Fleming’s is a tastefully flavorful spot to dine with friends, conduct business meetings or entertain for a private event. These seven small plates are great, but Fleming’s as a whole is even better. Make sure to stop by and give it a try during your next visit to Raleigh.
