Raleigh is home to a vast array of restaurants that offer unique and delicious culinary delights.  Everyone in the city would be lucky to explore as many of these great restaurants as possible, but for visitors and those who are super busy, it can seem a little difficult.

Now, curious visitors and foodies alike can rejoice over the phenomenal experience that is Taste Carolina Gourmet Food Tours.  Taste was founded by Joe Philipose and Lesley Stracks-Mullem as a way for people to take their dining experience to the next level.  Their tours showcase unique eateries and allow you to go behind the scenes to talk with the chefs and owners who make it all happen.

“You’re really getting a local experience.  We primarily focus on restaurants that source locally, that are independent community-based restaurants, and that are special gems in the area,” said co-founder Joe Philipose.

Taste offers a Downtown Raleigh tour on Wednesdays and Saturdays that showcases the Capital’s eclectic mix of dining, from delicious cupcakes to innovative ethnic cuisine.  Everyone meets at Tir Na Nog and then the tour begins on foot, rain or shine.  This is a great way to spend an afternoon, so grab your walking shoes, dress for the weather, and check it out!
