Though the Triangle is often associated with college basketball, the recent addition of the renowned football club, The Carolina RailHawks, has brought serious attention to soccer in the area. After a bit of a slow beginning, the RailHawks’ recent success has provided them with a stadium full of fans clad in orange and blue screaming: “Gooo, Hawks!”  So if you’re in the area and love soccer, it’s almost mandatory you catch a game. It’s an experience you’ll never forget!

The RailHawks are an all-male professional team competing in the USL First Division. The team was formed in 2006, and they proudly call WakeMed Soccer Park their home field.  The park, conveniently located in Cary, N.C., is a quick drive from almost anywhere in the Triangle! Not to mention the stadium holds 7000+, making it a great place to hang out and cheer on the Hawks with other enthusiasts!

The RailHawks games provide plenty of entertainment for everyone in your group, whether you’re bringing the kids or just looking for a casual outing. You’ll be sure to mingle and develop a sense of pride with other fans and even have the chance to meet some of the acclaimed players after the game. Or maybe get a picture taken with the mascot! There are also plenty of kid-friendly activities including themed nights, mascot meet and greets, and outdoor play facilities.

If you’re a soccer fan or want to become one, come cheer on the RailHawks. Their breath-taking goals and classic soccer finesse will have you craving more. To find out more or to view their schedule, visit their Web site. In the meantime, Gooo, Hawks!
