Hailed as one of the best U.S. cities to live, work and play, Raleigh has definitely developed into an exciting cultural mecca.  It’s no wonder the State Capital has flourished with diversity and culture, considering there are eight colleges and universities in Wake County alone and Research Triangle Park is right next door.

With culture, comes celebration!  Raleigh is home to many community-wide festivals that show appreciation for a wide array of religions, cultures and lifestyles, all of which are proudly represented in this dynamic city.

This fall, it’s time to round up your friends and family and enjoy the many festivals and celebrations happening in Raleigh.  Celebrating 45 nationalities and attracting more than 35,000 attendees, the 24th Annual International Festival is a great opportunity to explore.  Lasting from Oct. 2-4, this weekend cultural event is packed with music, food, exhibitions, dance and art!

With spectacular fireworks and beautiful performances, the Diwali Festival of Lights on Oct. 10 showcases Indian culture.  Following this full-day event, Eid – Festival of Feast, will take place on Oct. 11, marking the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.  There will be plenty of art, dance, music, and of course, food!

Moore Square will be home to the LGBT Center of Raleigh’s “Coming Out” party on Oct. 17, a celebration with the LGBT community.  Then, of course, we can’t forget about the 09 N.C. State Fair from Oct. 15-25!

The Cultural Capital is constantly buzzing with anticipation for the next cultural celebration coming up, so make sure to join in on the excitement and see what it’s all about!
