The Downtown Clubs of Raleigh (Cardinal and Capital City Clubs) are teaming up with the N.C. Pork Council to host their annual Charity Classic fundraiser, "The Downtown BBQ Bash." Head out to The Downtown BBQ Bash on Sept. 13 from 6-9 p.m. to help The Downtown Clubs of Raleigh meet their goal of raising over $10,000. Proceeds will benefit three charities, which include the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the Food Effect and the ClubCorp’s Employee Partner Care Foundation.

Downtown BBQ Bash
This fundraiser marks the one time each year that the Cardinal Club opens its doors to the public. Not only will you get to see one of the best views of downtown Raleigh, but you'll enjoy the finer side of pork barbecue. The Executive Chefs of some of Raleigh's most exclusive private clubs, culinary institutions and notable N.C. eateries will engage in friendly rivalry as they prepare N.C. pork shoulder recipes to tempt every palate. Check out this great chef line-up:

Chef Troy Stauffer, Executive Chef of The Downtown Clubs of Raleigh
Ms. Ethel Watson, The Capital City Club
Chef Oscar A. La Fuente, Executive Chef of The Carolina Club
Chef Andrew Baker, Executive Chef of Devil's Ridge Golf Club
Chef Theresa Fox, The Art Institute
Chef Jeffrey Bane, Chef's Academy
Chef Randy Holt, Owner, Clyde Cooper's BBQ
Chef Matthew Register, Owner, Southern Smoke BBQ

The event will feature a live band, silent auction and local celebrity judging. Judging for the event will be conducted by a panel of three judges and criteria will be based on authenticity or creativity/originality, use of ingredients, presentation and taste. Head out to The Downtown BBQ Bash to see which chef will be declared the winner!
