5 Seconds of Summer (5SOS) is an Australian pop rock band formed in Sydney in 2011. The group includes Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford, Calum Hood, and Ashton Irwin. They began as YouTube performers and gained international fame after touring with One Direction.

Since 2014, they’ve sold over 10 million albums, 2 million concert tickets, and earned more than 7 billion streams, making them one of Australia’s most successful music acts. Their debut single “She Looks So Perfect” (2014) topped charts in several countries, and their self-titled debut album hit number one in 11 nations. Sounds Good Feels Good (2015) and Youngblood (2018) continued their success, with Youngblood becoming one of the best-selling Australian singles ever. In the U.S., they became the first Australian act to have three consecutive number one albums on the Billboard 200.

Their fourth album, Calm (2020), topped charts in multiple countries and made them the second Australian band to have their first four albums debut at number one on the ARIA charts. All their singles have charted internationally and earned multiple certifications. 5SOS has received numerous awards, including the APRA Outstanding International Achievement Award (2019) and a spot on Billboard’s Top Artists of the 2010s list.
