About

This special concert draws inspiration from selected works of African American art at the NC Museum of Art as well as two powerful exhibitions, Ruth E. Carter: Afrofuturism in Costume Design and Michael Richards: Are You Down?. There will be a diverse mix of music including African American spirituals, contemporary and R&B. After the performance, attendees can visit the exhibitions and take a self-guided tour of African American art at the museum.

NCMA's permanent collection of African American art and Michael Richards exhibition can be viewed for free. A separate ticket must be purchased for the Ruth E. Carter exhibition.
