Adinkra are visual symbols, originally created by the Akan of Ghana and the Gyaman of Cote d'Ivoire in West Africa. Adinkra symbols represent an African Proverb. In this “TCA Gather and Create ”, we will review the meaning of many symbols. Choose a symbol that represents a proverb of our choice and paint a representation of your chosen adinkra symbol on a canvas with the guidance of an art instructor. We provide light non-alcoholic refreshments and good music while painting. This is like no paint party you have ever attended. Have fun creating a painting which has a meaning you can relate to long after the party is over.
