About

How do you smile? With your mouth or with your eyes? Does it show on your face or just on the inside? We all have different ways of showing, sharing and processing our emotions. In RLT’s first Theatre for the Very Young (TVY) production, this delightful show explores how all smiles are unique.

What is Theatre for the Very Young?

Theatre for the Very Young (TVY) is theatre designed for babies through pre-school age. It is largely, if not entirely, non-verbal and very interactive. The purpose of TVY is to support our youngest audience members in engaging with creative play, introducing them to narrative storytelling, and exploring social and emotional learning in a fun and approachable way.

Through music, movement, and drawing, audience members will join our actors on an adventure to create and share smiles through silliness and art! In moments of joy, you are invited to share in the laughter, and when the characters feel hard emotions like sadness or disappointment, you are invited to help us come up with what to do and how to be a good friend.
