An Evening with A Different Thread

A Different Thread is a transatlantic folk duo formed by Alicia Best (US) and Robert Jackson (UK) after meeting while busking in Ireland. Over the past decade, they have toured internationally, supporting artists such as Milk Carton Kids and Jody Stephens, and earning praise for their warm, deeply crafted songwriting. Their upcoming album, Over Again, blends Jackson’s British folk rock with Best’s North Carolina alt-country influences, combining electric guitars, Appalachian dulcimer, gospel-tinged vocals, and honky-tonk fiddle. Written during a period of personal and geographical transitions, the album reflects themes of renewal, love, and social and environmental awareness, while showcasing the duo’s distinct, transcontinental sound.
