Join us for an artist talk by Michelle Van Parys whose work is on view in Selections from the Collections, an exhibition drawing from the Gregg Museum’s collections of over 54,000 objects. Van Parys received her B.F.A. from the Corcoran School of Art in Washington D.C; and her M.F.A. in Photography from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her photographs have been exhibited internationally in solo and group exhibitions. A monograph of her photographs entitled The Way Out West: Desert Landscapes was published in 2009 by the Center for American Places at Columbia College Chicago. Van Parys has been the recipient of the Virginia Museum Fellowship and the South Carolina Arts Commission Fellowship. Her work is included in several museum collections such as the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, The High Museum, the Virginia Museum of Fine Art and the Portland Art Museum. This artist talk is in conjunction with Click! Photography Festival.
