Eleven-year-old orphan, Jillie Ross, escapes the vicious relatives threatening to flush away her beloved sister's ashes if she doesn't lead them to her dead father's rumored treasure. Olive Balla is the author of the suspense novels An Arm and a Leg and Jillie. She began telling stories shortly after she learned to speak, and went on to become an award-winning poet and published essayist. Olive was a semi-finalist in the 2011 SouthWest Writers literary contest.

Olive is a native New Mexican and lives in the central part of the state with her husband, Victor, and their puppy, Dazee.
