Author Event: Vanessa Miller

Join us in welcoming author Vanessa Miller as she celebrates the release of her new novel, The Ladies Hall. Inspired by the real lives of Mary Church Terrell, Anna Julia Cooper, and Ida Gibbs Hunt, the novel follows two Black women at Oberlin College in the 1880s as they pursue higher education, confront discrimination, and work to build a lasting legacy of achievement and social change.

Through themes of perseverance, equality, and friendship, The Ladies Hall explores a pivotal period in American history when expanding opportunities were often met with resistance. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from Vanessa Miller, a USA Today bestselling author known for her historical fiction that highlights resilience, faith, and the experiences of Black women during transformative moments in history.
