Featuring 23 contemporary African diasporic artists, The Time Is Always Now: Artists Reframe the Black Figure celebrates the Black figure from the perspective of Black artists, illuminating the richness, joy, beauty, and complexity of Black life.
The event will begin with a short tour of TTIAN with curator Maya Brooks. After the tour, in an interactive environment fostering conversation and meaning, enjoy an array of food stations crafted by Chef Rich Carter of Catering Works, with elements of representation dispersed throughout.
