City of Raleigh's July 4th Fireworks are moving to Dix Park!

Pack a picnic and head to Dix Park to enjoy music from our DJ stage and field games like Cornhole and giant Connect 4 before the fireworks begin.


  • Gates Open & Shuttles Begin - 6:00pm
  • Fireworks - 9:30pm
  • Last Shuttle leaves Dix Park - 11:30pm

Location: The Big Field at Dix Park

Free Parking

  • Dix Park will be closed to all vehicles.
  • Parking is available on NCSU Centennial Campus & Downtown Raleigh parking decks.
  • We recommend carpooling if possible.

Free Shuttles

  • Shuttles will run from NCSU Centennial Campus and Moore Square to Dix Park. 
  • Shuttles will run 6:00 pm until 11:30 pm.

Walk or Bike

  • Use the Rocky Branch Greenway to enter at Hunt Drive and Western Blvd.
  • Use the Centennial Bikeway Connector to enter at Blair Drive and Centennial Pkwy.

Know Before You Go

  • The event viewing area is a grass covered field with uneven surfaces. 
  • Bug spray, sunscreen and closed-toe shoes are recommended.
  • Bring blankets and/or lawn chairs for seating.
  • You may bring in food and non-alcoholic drinks.
  • Port-a-johns will be the only restrooms available at the event site. ADA accessible facilities will be included.


Accessible parking and viewing area is located at Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral.
