About
Crystal Spiders: Building on the foundations laid by legends from Black Sabbath to Windhand and beyond, Raleigh NC fuzz fanatics Crystal Spiders infuse the best elements of both classic rock and heavy metal dynamics with a hazy, psychedelic, doomed-out edge – their raw blend of powerhouse vocals, fuzzed-out bass lines, and shredding guitar that has earned them both global critical acclaim and the support of a diverse, growing fanbase over multiple singles, two full-length albums on Ripple Music, and a slew of gigs to date. An eagerly-awaited third full-length album, an appearance at Maryland Doom Fest, and an east coast tour are just a taste of what’s in store for 2025.
Wailin Storms: Originally formed in the unrelenting heat of Corpus Christi, Texas, WAILIN STORMS migrated east and ended up in Durham, North Carolina. Their sound is justly a mix of doom-punk and swampy rock, as elements of their prior and current surroundings culminate into a unique and volatile brew. Stamped with eerily dark and ominous vocal elements reminiscent of bluesy masters like Howlin’ Wolf and Samhain with emotive nods to Destruction Unit, Bauhaus, and Jesus Lizard, the band’s output is incessantly passionate and harrowing in its entirety.
Bronco: With their self-titled debut from February 2025, Bronco delivers a thunderous blend of doom metal and Southern sludge, echoing the rugged defiance of Cape Fear’s unforgiving waters. Rising from the ashes of TOKE after guitarist Tim Bryan’s tragic accident in 2021, the band, now a trio led by namesake bassist/vocalist Bronco, drummer JP, and new guitarist Vic, channels raw emotion and unrelenting heaviness into their sound.
Lie Heavy: Lie Heavy is a heavy rock supergroup bringing together notable N.C. rockers, Karl Agell, Jeff JD Dennis, TR Gwynne and Graham Fry. You may know them from some of their previous musical forays with Corrosion Of Conformity, The Backsliders, Leadfoot, Confessor, and Deltoid. The Lie Heavy sound draws on the original hard ‘n groovy jams of Black Sabbath, Mountain, Thin Lizzy, Deep Purple and other hard rock and metal masters, mixed with some punk & hardcore influences, fused with their own massive experience to craft heavy riffs, rhythms and melodies.
