Co-curators Lia Rose Newman and Tom Stanley come together to discuss the inception and curation of True Likeness. Newman, director and curator of the Van Every/Smith Galleries at Davidson College since 2013, is responsible for curating exhibitions, developing exhibition-related programming, and overseeing and growing Davidson College’s Permanent Art Collection, including the campus sculpture program.

Tom Stanley is a visual artist who served on the faculties of Arkansas College (now Lyon College) in Batesville, Arkansas and Barry University in Miami, Florida and was director of the Waterworks Visual Arts Center in Salisbury, North Carolina, from 1985 until 1990 when he became the first full-time director of Winthrop University Galleries in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
