Every October, thoughts turn to ghost, ghouls, and other scary things that go bump in the night. But sometimes truth is scarier that fiction. The City of Raleigh Museum presents an evening of true stories revealing the dark side of life in the Capital City . Its second annual ‘Dark Raleigh’ Walking Tour on Monday, Oct. 28 and Tuesday, Oct. 29 will recount a whole new collection of sordid tales of murder, crime, and death that have fallen into the shadows of the past. Join museum staff as they take you to little known locations around downtown for a tour experience like no other. Learn about the lovers found dead in their embrace, whose body was found in the nearby quarry, and which man was buried alive. Tour is not recommended for under 21.
Last year’s inaugural tour sold out immediately (as did the three additional tours added) – so reserve your spots fast!
Tickets are $25 (includes a free drink). Tickets for members of the Friends of the City of Raleigh Museum (501c(3) organization that supports the City of Raleigh Museum through fundraising and other initiatives) are $15.
Tours begin and end from the museum’s location in the historic Briggs Hardware building. After their tour, participants are invited to swap their own ghost stories at event sponsor - and one of Raleigh’s top cocktail bars - The Haymaker at 555 Fayetteville St..
