Ella’s Race is an annual 10K/5K/1-mile run in Raleigh, held in memory of Ella Newmiller, who passed away in 2012 from Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), a rare, incurable pediatric brain cancer. Now in its 14th year, the 2026 race will be hosted by Chick-fil-A Falls Village at Six Forks & Strickland. The event donates all proceeds to The Cure Starts Now to fund research for DIPG and other childhood brain cancers. Over the past 13 years, the race has raised more than $488,000 and draws over 900 participants annually, with all runners receiving a free Chick-fil-A breakfast.
