About

Signs of the Times is an exhibition about protest—about the people who protest, the issues they debate, and the way they shape society. It looks at how protests occur over time, as part of our everyday lives, as artistic practice, and in other forms, and how we experience these movements. This exhibit explores questions of racial and social justice, civic duties, civil rights, and environmental activism across various communities throughout North Carolina.

The exhibition will be on display until March 31, 2024. North Carolina Museum of History's hours of operation are as follows:

  • Mon.-Sat., 9am-5pm
  • Sun., Noon-5pm
  • The museum is closed on New Year's Day, Easter, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
