About
Galactic Empire is a prog‑metal quartet that reimagines iconic Star Wars music as high‑energy metal instrumentals, performing in full costumes as characters like Darth Vader, Boba Fett, and Stormtroopers. Formed by musicians Josh Willis, C.J. Masciantonio, Chris Kelly, Grant McFarland, and Carson Slovak, the group first gained attention on YouTube in 2015 with metal covers of the “Main Theme” and “The Imperial March,” quickly building a following. After launching a successful crowdfunding campaign in 2016, they signed with Rise Records and released their self‑titled debut in 2017, followed by Episode II in 2018, which focused on music from the Star Wars sequel trilogy.
