Home Is Distant Shores Film Festival

Now in its eighth year, the Home Is Distant Shores Film Festival in Raleigh celebrates the journeys and stories of immigrants and refugees from around the world. 

Presented by VerveFilms and the Town of Cary, the festival is devoted to amplifying underrepresented voices through arts and cultural programming. It features three film blocks, each followed by Q&A sessions with filmmakers and community members. The festival also highlights a local network of creatives who support immigrant and refugee artists, chefs, and storytellers, offering audiences a chance to experience culture, connection, and storytelling in one transformative event.
