Honey Fair promises sweet fun for all ages. West Raleigh Presbyterian Church (WRPC) is inviting the public to its second annual Honey and Art Fair, from 2-6pm, Sat., Oct. 1.

The event just off Hillsborough Street will spotlight the church's diversely cultivated Beeloved Community Garden featuring honey tasting and bee crafts, booths from community partners, live music, sidewalk chalk art competition, food vendors, bouncy fun for kids, and a native plant sale.

The fair will unfold on Vanderbilt Avenue near the corner of Horne Street, Raleigh, including the the WRPC church's nearby parking lot, and the Beeloved Community Garden at 2506 Vanderbilt Ave.

The idea for the Honey and Art Fair arose alongside the creation of the Beeloved Community Garden in March 2019 and the installation of a rescued honeybee hive in November 2020. We look forward to sharing our honey harvest with all members of the community during this family-friendly celebration.

"WRPC members have designed and cultivated the Beeloved Garden to connect people with the environment and with each other” said Beth Harris, a WRPC member and science educator, “if you’re looking for a peaceful place to enjoy native flowers and butterflies, this is the place to come.”
