This class is an introduction to using a basic home sewing machine through the lens of upcycling. The course will take place over four 3-hour sessions (Tuesday Nights) amounting to 12 hours of instruction and work time.
Each student will create one upcycled garment made from second hand and deadstock fabrics.
During this 4 week course you will learn:

Basics of operating a sewing machine

How to create a basic paper pattern & how to break it into a patchwork design

About fabric constructions (i.e knit vs woven, and the different types of fabrics within these categories)

How to identify grainlines

How to upcycle

Learn different stitches and seam finishes
This class will take place on the following Tuesday nights:
January 13th: 5:30pm to 8:30pm
January 20th: 5:30pm to 8:30pm
January 27th: 5:30pm to 8:30pm
February 3rd: 5:30pm to 8:30pm
